Interplanetary Shock (or CME Arrival)
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Location: Earth
Event Time: 2025-11-11T22:11Z ( ACE: MAG )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
ACE: MAG
ACE: SWEPAM
DSCOVR: PLASMAG
Activity ID: 2025-11-11T22:11:00-IPS-001 (version 3)
Quality of ICME Signature: 2 (clear signatures)
Note: Characterized by an increase in solar wind speed from ~8nT at 2025-11-11T22:11Z to a maximum of 62.9nT at 2025-11-12T00:35Z. Solar wind speed also increased from about 400 km/s at 2025-11-11T22:11Z to ~700 km/s at 2025-11-13T00:00Z. However, the solar wind speed data is speculative and displays a few drop outs possibly related to the high proton flux values observed by GOES around the time of this event. An increase in temperature is observed from ~10,000 K at 2025-11-11T22:11Z to ~630,000 K at 2025-11-11T23:56Z. An increase in density is also observed from ~4 p/cc at 2025-11-11T22:11Z to ~60 p/cc at 2025-11-11T23:45Z. However, both the density and temperature data exhibit sharp decreases around the same time as the drop outs in the solar wind speed data, making the data during this period speculative. This signature is likely associated with the combined arrival of CME: 2025-11-09T07:24Z and CME: 2025-11-10T09:36Z, with CME: 2025-11-07T12:53Z contributing a possible minor component as it likely merged with or was overtaken by the faster CME: 2025-11-09T07:24Z and CME: 2025-11-10T09:36Z.
